Announcement 18th September 2009

Following some actions taken by third parties against members of this forum for using their own images on Youtube I would like to make the following announcement.

Members of this Murrayfield-skaters forum are welcome to share their own videos or images with their friends here in our private albums. We recognise how hard skaters work and how proud you are of your achievements and recognise your rights to choose to share that success if you wish.

We are proud of you

We have a private password protected album where forum members can share clips and photos. The password is obtainable from myself or Kirsty. If you do choose to view the private albums on this site we ask that you accept the rights of our users to use the content.

Whilst I do not claim to be an expert on the complicated copyright laws, Section 2 of the UK copyright law gives the creators of literary, dramatic, musical, artistic works, rights to control the ways in which their material may be used. I believe this covers competition and exhibition performances. In summary you have a right to say where your video can be shown.

We also respect the rights of those who do not want their photo or video on display, or who change their mind at any time. If your image is on display and you would prefer it not to be, contact me and your issue will be solved.

This is a very friendly and supportive forum with a zero tolerance on harrassment and bullying. If you do not agree with the rules and policies of this forum then please ask yourself why are you here?

This forum has an open and fair policy for dealing with complaints. Your issues will always be dealt with in confidence and with respect to both parties. If you believe any video or photograph should not be in our albums, or if you have any other issue you would like to discuss please contact me on hannaholly@gmail.com and I will work with both parties to solve the problem quickly and fairly.
